Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Cyprus (ICPAC), and currently president of the Institute’s CFO committee.
Michalis Tsavdaridis
Group Finance Operations Manager at Google
As Group Finance Operations Manager for Google’s International Controllership, Michalis is responsible for leading the “backbone” of Google’s finance operations, its services centres, for the areas of EMEA, APAC and LATAM. He is responsible for the financial compliance of the company in these regions. In addition, Michalis is leading the transformation and strategy of these centres and he is acting as Google’s relationship manager for EMEA with its major advisory partners. Prior to Google, Michalis spent fours years with Microsoft. From 2017 to 2019, Michalis held the role of Area Senior Finance Manager for Western Europe and Ireland. He supervised all accounting, tax, treasury and compliance activities for the region and acted as main advisor to business leadership partnering in strategic decision making. As part of this role, he also played a key part in the finance transformation of the EMEA organization. From 2015 to 2017, Michalis held the role of Internal Audit Manager where he had the responsibility for the audit execution, planning and development of the EMEA Internal Audit team. Michalis started his career in 2011 with Procter & Gamble where from 2011 to 2013 he worked as Internal Auditor and from 2013 to 2015 as Finance Manager for Supply Chain and Capex responsible for Western Europe. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Piraeus and a Master of Science Degree in Economic Policy from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He currently resides in Dublin with his family, he has lived in five countries and he is an avid sports competitor.

Sofocles Tymvios is the CFO of Swissport Cyprus Ltd and the Head of Finance for the Mediterranean subregion of Swissport International AG. He has joined Swissport in 2015 as the CFO for the Cyprus entity and in addition to managing the Finance department was also responsible for the business units of Cargo and Executive Aviation. Currently in his dual role, he is responsible for the finance function of Swissport entities in five countries in Europe and North Africa. Previously, he has held senior finance positions in large private and public companies in Cyprus including Cyprus Airways Public Ltd, for a period of 10 years. After his period within the Daimler Group, René created a new automotive supplier company (Albonair Group) as part of the multinational Hinduja Group, which he expanded internationally with production sites in China and India and customers around the globe. Since 2014 René is Chief Financial Officer of the Dutch stock-listed engineering service group Arcadis, where he is responsible for the Region Central Europe.
